This class is designed for children ages 3-4. Having your child be away from home for the first time is a unique experience. I understand how challenging yet exciting this can be. For this reason I have designed this class to gently teach children important social skills like sharing, taking turns, listening, and following directions, along with a fun and engaging introduction to basic acadmeic skills like letters and sounds, writing their first names, colors, shapes, numbers, calendars, seasons, and counting.
Each month has a fun theme and our lessons will revolve around that theme. I love books and will incorporate many living books that will teach your child naturally through beautiful pictures and beautiful words. Reading beautiful and lovely books out loud to children regularlly will help enhance their reading and writing skills as well as enlarge their vocabulary as they listen to the well-written sentences and discriptive words. In conjunction with high quality literature, I will also incorporate a new fairy tale and nursery rhyme each month, as well as a monthly manner and emotion. We will also work on developing fine and gross motor skills like holding and cutting with scissors and holding a pencil properly. To further enrich your child's learning, each class will include music, singing, dance, and pretend play. Most of all I will encourage your child's unique creativity. I believe whole-heartedly in allowing children to develop his or her own style, imagination, and creativity. This is a very delicate time in your child's development, and I will do my best to nurture his or her uniqueness.
Children in this class will most likely attend another year of preschool (the 4-5 year old class) before attending kindergarten. Children must 3 years old by September 1st, 2025 and must be fully potty trained.
